Program Information
With support from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation (MCHF), Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) created the Adirondack Regional Healthcare Workforce BOOST (Building Opportunities and Outcomes for Success in Training) Program to open pathways for individuals pursuing meaningful careers in healthcare.
BOOST strengthens the regional healthcare workforce by helping individuals overcome the financial, social, and personal barriers that can hinder their access to education and training. The program offers scholarship awards that include tuition assistance, personalized coaching, and support with transportation, childcare, utilities, food needs, and other barriers that can impact a student’s ability to complete their training.
In addition to supporting students, BOOST invests in workforce retention. The program offers professional development opportunities, including Bridges Out of Poverty workforce stability training, to help healthcare employers and managers build positive, resilient work environments.
BOOST is also committed to inspiring future healthcare professionals. In partnership with the Hudson Mohawk Area Health Education Center (HM AHEC), the program offers Medical Academy of Science and Health (MASH) Camps, which are hands-on experiences that introduce high school students to a wide range of healthcare careers.
The BOOST program serves communities across Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Montgomery, Saratoga, St. Lawrence, Warren, and Washington counties, helping to build a stronger, more accessible healthcare workforce throughout the North Country.

STUDENT EXPERIENCES
“The BOOST program paid for so many things that I would have fallen behind on and would have struggled to earn enough to pay for. Examples, National Grid payments, NCLEX fees, licensing fees.”
“BOOST provided some financial relief that took some of the pressure of paying for school off my shoulders.”
“Helped me get necessary supplies for my classes, helped me when my car broke down many times or when my car had issues. Without BOOST financial support I probably would have had to drop out of school.”
“This program has truly been a lifesaver.”
