AHI Announces New Board Member

Adirondack Health Institute announces the appointment of Mr. Christopher Hickey to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Hickey currently serves in a part time role as Sr. Vice President and Advisor for UVM Health Networks Northern New York members, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, and Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone.

Mr. Hickey partially retired in 2023 after serving in Healthcare Chief Financial Officer roles in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Over the course of his 43-year career in healthcare finance, the organizations he served ranged from Critical Access Hospitals, Sole Community Hospitals, and Academic Medical Centers.

Mr. Hickey holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Siena College. He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a former Fellow. He has served at all levels of leadership roles within the organization including the National Board of Directors.

AHI Announces New Board Member – Donna McGregor

June 23rd, 2022

Adirondack Health Institute announces the appointment of Donna McGregor, SLH President at St. Lawrence Health System, to its Board of Directors. Ms. McGregor will serve as the Member Representative from St. Lawrence Health Systems as Mr. David Acker transitions into retirement.

Ms. McGregor was appointed to her role of President after most recently serving as the Sr. VP of Finance/CFO. Ms. McGregor holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Siena College and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance with distinction from Long Island University. She is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status), a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Ms. McGregor is the recipient of the ACHE Regent’s Award. She is also the recipient of several other industry awards including the Putnam County Distinguished Individual Service Award, New York State Senate Woman of Distinction, Modern Healthcare Magazine Young Executive Up and Comer Award, the YWCA Salute to Women in Business Award, and multiple other awards for leadership, service and education.

AHI Announces New Board Member – Paul Scimeca

February 20th, 2022

Adirondack Health Institute announces the appointment of Paul Scimeca, Int. President/Chief Executive Officer at Glens Falls Hospital, to its Board of Directors. Mr. Scimeca will serve as the Member Representative from Glens Falls Hospital as Dianne Shugrue transitions into retirement.

Mr. Scimeca was appointed to the role of Int. President/Chief Executive Officer in January 2022 after most recently serving as the SVP/Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his role at Glens Falls Hospital, Mr. Scimeca is an adjunct professor at Clarkson University Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Scimeca holds a master’s degree in health services administration from Sage Graduate College and a bachelor’s degree in planning from New York University.
