Karen Ashline
Chief Executive Officer
Karen Ashline is Chief Executive Officer for AHI and the Adirondacks ACO (Accountable Care Organization). Ashline provides strategic leadership for both AHI and the Adirondacks ACO, working collaboratively with community partners (hospitals, physician practices, behavioral health partners, community-based organizations, and others) on innovative initiatives that advance quality, improve access and affordability, and transform health care delivery in the rural North Country region of New York State. The Adirondacks ACO supports contracting with the Medicare Shared Savings Program, Managed Medicaid, and commercial health plan value-based payment contracts in the same rural region of New York State.
Ashline works with the AHI Board of Directors and Adirondacks ACO Board of Managers, the respective management teams, staff, members, and external stakeholders to establish and successfully implement long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies. Under her direction, AHI and the Adirondacks ACO are addressing rapid changes and challenges to the health care system, with a focus on ensuring patients and their communities have available high quality healthcare services, with care at the right time, in the right setting, and at the lowest possible cost.
Ashline joined AHI in January 2024. She is a long-standing health care leader with more than two decades of experience. Prior to joining AHI, Ashline held the position of Vice President of the Adirondacks ACO.
Ashline received a master’s degree in administration and leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh and is a native of rural Essex County, New York. She has a clear understanding of the rural demographics of the area and the challenges patients, families and their health care providers are faced with in the some of the most rural counties of northeastern New York State.
