Glens Falls Hospital and Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) leaders recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that welcomes Glens Falls Hospital as an AHI member. GFH joins the organization’s regional collaboration between Adirondack Health, Community Providers, Inc. (Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital) and Hudson Headwaters Health Network.
“AHI was established to help the Adirondack region reform health care services by fostering effective partnerships and programs to improve health and contain costs,” said Cathy Homkey, CEO of the Adirondack Health Institute. “We are working to formalize our relationship with Glens Falls Hospital, which will bring value to our efforts to assess the region’s health care needs, and to ensure essential providers survive, improve access, coordination, outcomes and quality of care, and population health.”
The service area includes Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Northern Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to participate,” says Dianne Shugrue, President and CEO of Glens Falls Hospital. “Our collaboration with this group reinforces our commitment to providing the utmost quality of care to the patients of our region – whether those patients need primary, diagnostic, rehabilitative, or inpatient care. We are honored to join the planning, outreach and collaboration these organizations have been focusing on.”
