Adirondack Health Institute has received from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) a one-year, $200,000 Rural Communities Opioid Response Program Planning grant. Funding will support treatment for and the prevention of substance use disorders in eight high-risk counties. AHI will serve as the lead agency for the development of a consortium that will undertake the planning and capacity-building goals and objectives of the grant.
“Receiving this award is a major accomplishment and we are honored that HRSA has entrusted AHI to lead the planning efforts for this initiative,” said Eric Burton, Chief Executive Officer, AHI, who shared that the organization is one of only 95 in the nation to receive project funding. “These funds will help us bring together organizations across our region to plan solutions to address this complex health problem.”
