The AHI PPS is hosting the latest in a series of cultural competency and health literacy training sessions, a module ideal for front-end staff from clinical settings, public health agencies and community-based organizations who communicate directly with patients/clients.
Empowering Health Care Consumers: Tools for Assessing Health Literacy and Promoting Chronic Disease Self-Management, facilitated by trainers Jennifer Manganello, PhD, MPH, and Greg Owens, LMSW, will focus on the core principles of shared decision-making and empowering consumers, and disseminating messages and designing materials for different populations. A presentation will also be made on cultural sensitivity/competence related to interacting with the aging population.
Register for the session.
Attendees are encouraged to bring organizational patient/client materials for individualized review.
