Evidence-Based Health Coaching

Objective: Upon completion of this one-day CoachClinic training, participants will be able to identify major differences between health coaching and traditional methods of health teaching, identify your communication style, describe how active listening is used in health coaching, describe how to facilitate health behavior, list six criteria for setting goals, describe the OARS technique and write a measurable outcome appropriate for health coaching.
Target Audience: AHI PPS partner organizations. Clinical/licensed health care staff or allied health care staff with a commitment to participate in a blended training program to learn critical components of skillful patient/client conversation.
Program Description: Evidence-Based Health Coaching (EBHC)® and Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills are key critical components of skillful patient/client conversation and in this program are taught through personal self-assessments, case studies, group discussion, and practice, practice, practice!
Blended learning program with one day of in-person training and required self-study needed (on average, an additional 70 hours of self-study is needed)
Certification and Certificate of Completion Guidelines:
**Certification is available only for clinical health care providers. Certification is awarded after self-study and successful completion of the NSHC Certification Exam.
**Certificate of Completion is available for allied health care providers not licensed or credentialed as a provider, and interested in NSHC programs for continuing education. Certificate of completion is granted upon successful completion of a timed, on-line test completed within 12 months. This is NOT a certification.
Continuing Education: Six (6) CE’s will be awarded for the in-person event. Ability to earn an additional 28.2 or 33.8 CE’s.
