This two-part training is designed to help health care staff increase their skill in engaging patients in health behavior change. Participants will gain knowledge and experience with the spirit of motivational interviewing, clinical empathy, and MI skills that will help them motivate patients to engage in healthy behaviors. Each training will be followed by an opportunity to participate in coaching calls to strengthen skills, problem-solve, and share successes.
The training will be held 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., or 12:30 – 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 7 and Friday, January 18, at the Butcher Block in Plattsburgh.
