Managing Client/Patient Resistance – Webinar Opportunity

We are sponsoring a Managing Client/Patient Resistance webinar on Wednesday, February 10.  This free webinar will be presented by Melinda Huffman, National Society of Health Coaches.

Participants will explore what causes patient/family resistance, the science behind it, and how to avoid and defuse it. Real life examples of patient/family resistance are used allowing attendees to practice these special skills.

Thank you to Jessica Fraser of HHHN and Brenda Stiles of UVM Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for agreeing to be interviewed on regional challenges, to assist in the customization of this webinar.

Upon completion of this customized webinar, attendees will be able to:

1. Describe the “righting reflex”.
2. Explain why the “righting reflex” occurs.
3. Discuss ways the “righting reflex” can be avoided or defused.
4. Practice writing responses (used in conversation) that serves to defuse client resistance.
