More than 200 health care professionals and other stakeholders from nine North Country counties and beyond explored relevant and timely regional population health issues at Adirondack Health Institute’s 11th Annual Leadership Summit, Advancing Whole-Person Care Through a Collaborative System of Health, on Thursday, September 19, at the Lake Placid Conference Center.
Among thought leaders who participated and presented at the event, Dr. Eugene Heslin, First Deputy Commissioner of the New York State Department of Health, provided the keynote address, while a group of regional leaders broached the topic of advancing whole-person care in our rural region during a panel discussion, Collaborative System of Health.
AHI also announced seven 2019 Rural Health Champions at the event, including Jennifer Neifeld, 820 River Street, The Baywood Center, Lee Rivers, Community Connections of Franklin County, Susan Allott, Essex County Health Department, Leah Breeyear, Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson, Trip Shannon, Hudson Headwaters Health Network, Valerie Ainsworth, Mental Health Association in Essex County, and Maggie Rowley, Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home.
